The challenge
Harbor Roast had grown from a single counter to six cafés, but its look was still a patchwork of hand-painted signs and supplier labels. The roasters wanted something that felt crafted without feeling precious.
Our approach
We started in the roastery, watching how bags are filled, labelled and stacked. We drew a wordmark with the uneven rhythm of a hand-cut stencil, built a colour system around green coffee, roast levels and paper, and photographed every origin on the same grey table so the shelf reads like a library.
The result
The packaging now reads as one family across cafés, wholesale and online. The team launches new origins using templates we handed over, without calling a designer.
